The southern end of Old Town, where North Halsted and Clark Streets converge near Division Street, holds the densest concentration of Old Town's bars and restaurants. This block anchors the neighbourhood's nightlife and is where most visitors to the Second City end up before and after shows.
The bar culture here is more diverse than the gentrified stretches further north — sports bars, cocktail bars, dive bars, and restaurant-bars existing in a block or two. Patio seats fill on summer evenings before show times. The proximity to Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, and River North means the neighbourhood sees considerable through traffic on weekends.
