Saint Ignatius College Prep opened in 1869, two years before the Great Chicago Fire, and its old campus still has the weight of that pre-fire city. You cannot tour the working high school, but architecture-minded walkers can see the exterior and the fragments of lost Chicago buildings displayed around the grounds.
