A free art exhibition space occupying one of Chicago's most spectacular interiors — a 1897 building constructed as the city's main public library, with two vast Tiffany glass domes, one in the Preston Bradley Hall and one in the Randolph Street room. The domes are among the finest examples of art glass in the United States.
The building now operates as an exhibition and event venue for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, with rotating contemporary art shows, music performances, and public programmes throughout the year. All exhibitions and most events are free. Worth a visit purely for the architecture if not the current programme. Michigan Avenue at Randolph. Open Monday–Sunday.
