The eastern edge of Ukrainian Village, where it borders Wicker Park near Damen Avenue, has developed a concentration of cafés, cocktail bars, and restaurants that bridges the character of the two neighbourhoods. This zone — sometimes called East Village by local real estate marketing — has newer arrivals operating alongside the Ukrainian Village institutions.
The Bungalow on Augusta is one of the neighbourhood's better cocktail bars; several BYOB restaurants on Augusta and Division serve the growing population of younger professionals who have moved into the neighbourhood since 2010. The east end of Ukrainian Village is more lively at night than the western blocks and functions as an organic extension of Wicker Park's commercial activity rather than a distinct destination.
