Getting There

Andasibe lies about 150 km east of Antananarivo on Route Nationale 2, the main road to the east coast. The drive takes two and a half to three hours depending on traffic leaving the capital. Most visitors come by private vehicle or organised tour. Taxis-brousse (shared minibuses) run from Antananarivo's eastern taxi-brousse station to Moramanga and sometimes continue to Andasibe village; the journey takes three to four hours and requires patience. A faster option is hiring a private taxi from Tana for the day or the duration of your stay — drivers know the route well and can wait while you do the park.

The historic railway line from Antananarivo to Toamasina passes through Andasibe station, but the service is irregular and rarely used by tourists. The road option is almost always faster and more reliable.
