Meizhou Island is reached by ferry from Meizhou Pier on the Putian mainland, a 30-minute crossing with services throughout the day. The pier is accessible from Putian city by local bus or taxi, about 40 minutes from the city centre. High-speed trains connect Putian to Fuzhou in about 40 minutes and to Xiamen in about an hour — from Putian station, taxis reach the ferry pier in around 40 minutes. Plan the return ferry carefully as the last crossing leaves the island in mid-evening; timing varies by season.
