Saltwater crocodiles are Bhitarkanika's headline animal. On a good boat trip you may see them lying on exposed mud, sliding off banks, or waiting almost invisibly at creek edges.
Do not lean out for photographs or treat the water like a tame safari pond. These are powerful wild animals, and the park's rules exist for good reason.
