Zendan-e Soleyman (Prison of Solomon)

Mysterious stone tower near the Tomb of Cyrus

This enigmatic stone tower stands near the Tomb of Cyrus. It is a windowless rectangular structure of finely cut limestone blocks, with a single entrance reached by a stone staircase. Its original purpose remains debated — it may have been a fire temple, a royal treasury, or a funerary monument. A nearly identical structure, the Ka'ba-ye Zartosht, stands at Naqsh-e Rostam near Persepolis, adding to the mystery.
