Cheomchal Mountain is Jindo's highest rocky summit, rising to 485 metres above the island. The walk is not only about the view: traces of an old fortress are said to date back to the Baekje period, and the mountain also sits close to Ullimsanbang and Ssanggyesa Temple.
Come on a clear day if you can. From the higher ground, Jindo feels less like a single town and more like an island of ridges, inlets, and small villages stitched together by narrow roads.
