Xiangde Temple stands above Tianxiang, reached by a bridge and steps from the gorge floor. Its pagoda, terraces, and temple buildings give a different angle on Taroko: less about tunnel roads and cliffs from below, more about looking back across the valley.
The climb is short but exposed enough to feel like a real change of perspective. It is especially rewarding in clear weather, when the temple's bright roofs and the surrounding marble gorge walls frame one of the classic views in the central part of the park.
