Cromarty Courthouse Museum

Community-run museum in George Ross's 18th-century courthouse, telling the story of the old burgh.

The Courthouse was one of the buildings George Ross put up in the 1770s when he was remaking Cromarty, and it stands prominently on Church Street. Cromarty was a county town until 1890, so it had a working court. Today the building is an excellent community-run museum telling the story of the burgh and its people.

It's small, but it gives you the context for everything else you will see as you walk around the town.
