The Pavilion Theatre is a survivor from Glasgow’s great age of music halls and variety entertainment. Its programme still leans toward pantomime, comedy, musicals, and popular touring shows, which makes it very different from the city’s grand civic museums.
The theatre is worth noticing even if you do not book a ticket, but the real reason to go is the atmosphere of a Glasgow audience in a historic house. Check listings first; as with any theatre, its travel value depends on the night’s performance.
