Balranald RSPB Reserve protects machair, dunes and coastal habitat on North Uist. It is best known for corncrakes, which are more often heard than seen, and for an easy circular walk that gives a good introduction to Outer Hebridean birdlife and wildflowers. Allow two to three hours.
