The Beacons' operators are spread around the towns at the edge of the park. Wild caving and canyoning are in Waterfall Country in the south-west. Paragliding is on the Black Mountains ridges above Crickhowell. Pony trekking goes from the farms around Brecon and Llangorse, and canoeing is on the Wye at the park's northern edge and on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal through the Usk valley.
