The established operator for Nicaragua's northern highlands, running coffee-farm days that follow the crop from the picking to the cup, walks in the cloud forest reserves above town, and trips out to Miraflor, the community-managed reserve near Estelí where the farms themselves put visitors up.
This is the part of the country most travellers skip on their way between Granada and León, and it is the part that rewards a guide most: the reserves have no signage, the farms are on tracks that need four-wheel drive in the wet, and the coffee harvest — December to February — is the season worth timing a visit around.
