The Lushui-Wenshan Trail explores a quieter side of Taroko Gorge, away from the most photographed marble walls and roadside viewpoints. It follows old route fragments through forest, with glimpses down to the Liwu River and across to the steep green slopes that make the gorge feel so enclosed.
This is a proper walking stop rather than a quick pull-off. Check current trail conditions before setting out, since Taroko paths are often affected by rockfall, typhoons, and earthquake damage. When open, it is a rewarding choice for travellers who want the gorge to feel less like a sequence of bus stops.
