Panngi (Pangi)

Panngi (also spelled Pangi) is the main village of southern Pentecost and the practical base for most visitors coming for the land dive. It sits on the southwest coast, a short drive from Lonorore Airport, with a wharf for the inter-island ships, a small market on Saturdays, and a handful of basic village-stay bungalows that double as the land-dive headquarters during the season.

Outside the land-dive Saturdays, Panngi is a quiet coastal village — people working in the gardens, kids on the beach in the afternoon, the occasional copra truck rumbling past. Pick up local information here about how to reach Bunlap on foot, which villages are running which ceremonies that week, and whether the boats north along the coast are running.
