Pentecost is dominated by one event — the Naghol land dive in the southern villages from April to early June — and around it a slower, harder-to-reach landscape of kastom villages, mission stations, and rainforest. Most visitors come for a day or two during the dive season; serious travellers stay longer to walk the island and spend time in the villages.
