Ben Lomond

Scotland's most southerly Munro, a popular climb from Rowardennan with views over the whole loch

At 974 metres Ben Lomond is the most southerly of the Munros, rising straight from the east shore of Loch Lomond. Around 30,000 people reach the summit each year, most of them on the well-made tourist path from Rowardennan, a long but straightforward day up and down.

On a clear day the view takes in the whole loch and its islands to the south, the Arrochar Alps across the water, and on the clearest days Ben Nevis, 64 km to the north. The mountain is owned by the National Trust for Scotland as part of the Ben Lomond National Memorial Park.
