Bars and Cafes

Siargao's nightlife is centred around General Luna, where bars line the road running parallel to the beach. The scene is unpretentious: cold San Miguel, occasional live music, hammocks, and sand underfoot. Everything closes relatively early by mainland standards — by 2am most places are winding down. The energy follows the surf: after a good swell day, the bars fill early and stay busy.

A handful of cafes serve decent espresso, which is notable in rural Philippines. They cater to the laptop-and-surf-lifestyle crowd and open early enough to catch the dawn patrol surfers.
