The motorbike is the best way to explore Siargao. Rentals are available throughout General Luna, typically for 500-700 pesos per day for a semi-automatic scooter. The road that circles the island's east coast is paved and easy to navigate; the roads into the interior are rougher. A full circuit of the main paved roads takes about two hours with no stops.
For beach and island trips, habal-habal (motorbike taxis) are the cheapest option for short distances. Tricycles operate in and around General Luna and Dapa but are too slow for longer island trips. Bangka (outrigger) boats run from the General Luna beachfront for island-hopping tours; negotiate prices in advance or book through guesthouses, which generally get fair rates.
For Sohoton Cove and Sugba Lagoon, the standard arrangement is a shared speedboat tour organised through your accommodation. Going independently saves money if you can fill a boat, since boat hire is charged as a flat rate regardless of passenger numbers.
