Naked Island

Naked Island is exactly what it sounds like: a long, thin sandbar with no vegetation, no shade, and nothing on it except white sand and the sea. It's the most minimal and most photogenic of the three islands off General Luna, and many people argue it's the most beautiful. Standing on it feels like standing in the middle of the ocean.

The sandbar is only exposed at low tide, when it stretches nearly 200 metres and sits barely above sea level. At high tide it shrinks to almost nothing, so timing your visit matters. Snorkelling around the island turns up decent coral and reef fish. Bring sunscreen, water, and a hat — there is no shelter whatsoever. The island is included in the standard three-island boat package from General Luna.
