Beatriz de la Fuente Murals Museum

A small but rewarding museum displaying detached murals from the site, including pieces that would otherwise be impossible to see — fragments from Tetitla and Tepantitla that were lifted off the walls during excavation campaigns in the twentieth century to protect them from weather and looting. The display is dimly lit (which is correct for the surviving pigment) and is the only place to see some of the city's finest paintings up close.

The museum was named after Beatriz de la Fuente, the great Mexican art historian who studied and catalogued the city's murals. Entry is included with the site ticket. About half an hour, but the labels are not always available in English — pair with the main site museum for the full picture.
