Chesler Park is one of the classic hiking goals in the Needles district of Canyonlands. The open grassland sits inside a ring of striped sandstone spires, giving the area the strange, enclosed feeling that makes this part of the park so memorable.
You reach it on foot, so it is not a casual roadside viewpoint. For hikers, though, it is one of the best ways to understand why the Needles are named the Needles: the rock formations crowd the horizon in every direction.
