Murphy Loop is a demanding hike in Canyonlands, crossing mesa top before dropping steeply toward Murphy Hogback and the White Rim country. The reward is a broad desert view over the Green River, canyons, and pale sandstone benches.
The full loop is long, exposed, and rough underfoot, so bring more water than you think you need. If you want a shorter outing, the spur to Murphy Point still gives a strong sense of the scale without committing to the whole route.
