The Elephant Canyon route to Druid Arch is one of the classic long hikes in the Needles district of Canyonlands. The 11-mile round trip starts from Elephant Hill, follows the Chesler Park access trail into Elephant Canyon, then climbs toward the tall, squared-off arch at the end.
It is a serious desert day rather than a casual overlook. Carry plenty of water, start early in hot weather, and expect slickrock, sand, and route-finding markers before the final view.
