Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church is one of north Mumbai's older Catholic landmarks, founded in the Portuguese period after the Bombay-Bassein coastal tracts came under Portuguese control. The present church is a reminder that Mumbai's northern suburbs have a much longer history than their modern traffic and apartment blocks suggest.
