Nyika is a walking, riding, and driving park rather than a Big-Five safari destination. The plateau offers some of the best high-altitude trekking in Central Africa, with marked routes that range from short walks from Chelinda to multi-day traverses across the grassland. Game drives focus on antelope and zebra in spectacular open country; horseback safaris cover the same ground at a quieter pace and get you closer to the wildlife. Bird watching, trout fishing in the dam at Chelinda, and the spring orchid bloom give the park enough variety to fill a long stay.
