Portree is less about sights than about position. The harbour and The Lump fill an evening; the real things to do are the drives north into Trotternish — the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the Quiraing — and south to the Cuillin. Boat trips from the quay head out into the Sound of Raasay for seals, seabirds and, with luck, sea eagles.
