Hangyeryeong Pass

Hangyeryeong Pass crosses the western side of Seoraksan and gives one of the easiest high viewpoints over the park's jagged granite ridges. The observatory by the rest area is a popular stop for drivers, photographers, and anyone who wants a mountain view without a long climb.

It is most dramatic in autumn, when the slopes below the pass turn red and gold. Weather changes quickly at this elevation, so it is worth stopping when the view is clear.
