Osaekryeong Pass climbs to about 1,004 metres, where the road crosses the mountains between Yangyang and Inje. Before modern highways, salt and daily goods moved through this route; today it is mainly a scenic crossing into the Seoraksan area.
The pass is worth noting if you are driving through the park region rather than treating Seoraksan as a single trailhead. In clear weather, the mountain views make the journey feel like part of the visit.
