875 North Michigan Avenue, still better known to many visitors as the John Hancock Center, is one of Chicago's defining skyscrapers. Its black X-braced frame is easy to recognise from the lakefront, and the high observation deck gives a superb view over the Magnificent Mile, Lake Michigan, and the dense north side skyline.
