The former Krause Music Store is a small but important Louis Sullivan building in Lincoln Square. Built in 1922, it was Sullivan's last commission, and its restored terra-cotta facade shows the dense organic ornament that made his late work so distinctive.
The building now houses a design studio, so the visit is mainly an exterior stop. It is worth the detour for architecture fans tracing Sullivan beyond the Loop.
